Greater Cirrhosis Severity Linked to Higher Prevalence of Cirrhotic Cardiomyopathy

Audio narration · Coming soon

This study investigates the relationship between cirrhosis severity and the prevalence of cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (CCM) using echocardiographic criteria. Conducted from September 2023 to September 2024, the research enrolled 77 clinically stable adults with cirrhosis and no prior cardiovascular disease to assess cardiac dysfunction in relation to Child–Pugh and MELD scores. The findings highlight the importance of cardiac evaluation in patients with advanced liver disease and suggest potential thresholds for CCM risk.
