Integrated Analysis Identifies Risk Factors for Poor Outcomes in MDR/RR-TB Patients
Audio narration · Coming soon
This study analyzes a large international database of 7,750 tuberculosis patients to identify risk factors associated with unfavorable outcomes in multidrug-resistant and rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis (MDR/RR-TB). Key factors such as HIV infection, age, low BMI, smoking, and disease characteristics were linked to worse clinical outcomes, enabling the development of a patient risk score. External validation with a 6-month BPaL treatment regimen demonstrated high treatment success rates, especially among low-risk patients.
