Immunosuppressed Cancer Patients on Immunotherapy Face Higher Risk of Severe Infections

A retrospective study by Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute reveals that cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) who also receive multiple immunosuppressive therapies have an increased risk of serious infections. Nearly half of these infections were severe, life-threatening, or fatal. The findings were published in the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
