Students Describe New Proto-Amphibian Species Named After Their Mothers

Two student scientists from the Field Museum have described a new species of proto-amphibian discovered in a Carboniferous fossil deposit near Chicago. This species lived around 309 million years ago in a swampy river delta environment. The students named the species in honor of their mothers, both named Jean.
