Oral Hormone Replacement Therapy Linked to Increased Risk of Blood Clots

A large Danish study published in The BMJ finds that current use of oral menopausal hormone therapy is associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembolism, including blood clots in the legs and lungs. This risk appears regardless of the hormone dose or duration of treatment.
