Genetically Engineered Yeast Could Produce Building Materials for Mars Outposts

A research team led by Ning Liu at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has developed a method using genetically engineered yeast to create structural materials for building on Mars. This approach aims to reduce the need to transport construction materials from Earth by utilizing resources available on the Martian surface.
