Alberta to Implement New Flag Rules and Restrictions in Schools Starting 2027

Alberta has announced new regulations regarding the display of flags in all schools beginning in 2027. School boards may apply for exemptions, but only for flags that are not considered political, social, or ideological statements. This decision comes as part of the province's efforts to regulate symbolic displays in educational settings.
