Genomic Study of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma in Kuwait Identifies New Somatic Variants

This study analyzes the genomic landscape of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) in Kuwait using targeted next-generation sequencing on 72 tumor samples collected from 2019 to 2022. The research identified 227 somatic variants, including common drivers like BRAFV600E and RAS Q61 mutations, and discovered rare novel candidate variants. The cohort was predominantly female with early-stage disease and exhibited a low tumor mutational burden.
