Smoking Exposure Linked to Lower Survival in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma in Northern China

Audio narration · Coming soon

This study examines the impact of smoking on overall survival in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients from a non-endemic region in northern China. Analysis of a multicenter cohort of 1022 patients revealed that current or recent smokers had lower five-year survival rates compared to never and former smokers. The findings are supported by an exploratory meta-analysis of seven studies, highlighting smoking as a prognostic factor in NPC survival.
