Study reveals Y chromosome deletions drive tumor growth in male cancers

A recent study led by Dr. Dan Theodorescu from the University of Arizona Cancer Center discovered that cancer cells selectively delete gene-rich regions of the Y chromosome. These deletions cause regulatory disruptions that promote tumor growth in men. The findings were published in the journal Communications Biology.
