GIS-MCDA Framework Assesses Transit-Oriented Development Potential in Greater Cairo

This study introduces a detailed GIS-MCDA framework to evaluate transit-oriented development (TOD) potential across 413 administrative units in the Greater Cairo Region. It addresses the common oversight of dense, historically established districts by incorporating socio-economic, land-use, and transport indicators for a comprehensive TOD retrofit and readiness assessment. The approach aims to support sustainable urban growth by integrating land use and transportation planning in a rapidly urbanizing metropolitan context.
